{ Succulent Mocha Soap }

Welcome to October my friends,

When my order for new fragrances (along with some re-stocking of old favorites) arrived I was especially excited about the espresso fragrance oil I purchased; the rich, warm, smooth aroma it bears is a perfect complement to the sweet, dense, familiar scent of dark rich chocolate, which is of my favorite fragrances so far.

What better way to warm yourself than by exalting in a truly delectable blend? The spirit of two beans, which pair so well they dance through cafes across the world, make me wish this soap was edible.

In addition to soap making I am busy formulating recipes for salves, balms and butters to help with winter skin problems. For this I infused mango butter with calendula, oils of avocado, sweet almond and grape seed with lavender and am currently infusing a large batch of grape seed oil with hops. I can’t wait to use these to make wonderfully smooth, emollient concoctions.

Waiting for the wind,

Succulent Mocha Soap --- Full of Love

Succulent Mocha Soap

Full of Love

Read below the cut to learn all about this delectable soap.

We have never been terribly enthralled coffee-sippers, but do revel in the wonderful aroma of it and while everyone has their preferences, very few can deny the sweet temptations of chocolate in its many forms. These compelling flavor profiles informed our recipe crafting for this batch of soap.

We are moving toward a more luxurious offering and our ingredients bear testament to this change: more rich butters and more nutritious oils your skin will love.

The oils used in this soap are:

{ Pure Primed Pressed Cocoa Butter}

This wonderfully decadent butter is chock-full of antioxidants which assist in preventing and reducing damage by free radicals. It also is very high in fatty acids which penetrate the skin to provide thorough, deep moisturizing.

In soap this butter helps create a firm bar that produces a stable, nourishing lather.

{ Sweet Almond Oil }

Sweet almond oil is rich in vitamins A, B and E, which are wonderful for skin and hair alike. Vitamin E, in particular, is wonderful for helping skin maintain a plump, youthful appearance. This oil is a wonderfully balancing moisturizer that is effective without causing a greasy feeling or oily buildup.

{ Mango Butter }

One of our butter crushes, mango butter is a favorite of ours! This butter is traditionally used for its skin softening, soothing, moisturizing and protective properties. It boasts natural emollient, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-ageing properties as well as regenerative activity. This butter is rich in vitamins A, C and E, which combat free radicals.

In soap this butter produces a hard bar of soap with a stable, conditioning lather.

{ Natural Raw Shea Butter }

Oh, we could go crazy with shea butter! It’s so rich and creamy and absolute luxury for our skin!

Shea butter is touted as a sort of skin cure-all with healing qualities, anti-inflammatory properties and a high antioxidant content make this a proverbial skin super food. Skin will absorb this butter readily, leaving little to nothing left over.

This butter contains many trace ingredients which don’t react with lye, meaning they remain intact and ready to be absorbed by your skin. In addiction to topical nutritive properties, shea butter also gives soap a nice slip.

As we see it: the more chocolate the better! We are always excited to add our favorite treat to our skin care regimen and to share it’s beneficial properties with those we love.

{ White Kaolin Clay }

So soft and gentle, this clay is wonderful for sensitive skins. It has a very light grit, making it idea for people in need of light exfoliation.

In soap this clay causes a silky and creamy texture.

{ Cocoa Powder }

Cocoa powder is an aft overlooked ingredient that has myriad benefits for the skin! We love it, both in our skin and in our treats. Cocoa powder is high in antioxidants, magnesium, C vitamins, Omega 6 fatty acids, enzymes and caffeine. What that means: cocoa powder is full of things that promote healthful, glowing, firm skin!

Our delightful blend of fragrance oils includes:

{ Espresso }

This comforting and familiar scent smells just like that warm, dark cup of coffee freshly poured from a French press. This aroma entices your senses with opening notes of bitter-sweet chocolate, coconut and almond, warms your cockles with middle notes of honey and caramel offer a balancing sweetness and brings wonderful closure with finishing notes of roasted coffee and burnt sugar.

{ Dark Rich Chocolate }

Rich and creamy, this smells just like your favorite dark chocolate indulgence which carries in it pervasive undertones of mocha and cocoa.
