{ Turmeric Twist Soap }

Hello friends,

This week we bore witness to a lucky occurrence of a Blood Moon. I slept through it but have indulged in pouring over pictures of it online, and it was stunning. A strange thing happens to me during full moons: my sleep becomes horrible. Perhaps the extra luminescence makes deep sleep more elusive or maybe full moon madness stirs my thoughts, keeping them from settling enough to sleep. Whatever transpires causes in me a restlessness that wriggles from my toes all the way up through my awareness. It’s bothersome but a minor complaint. However, because of my recent sleep deprivation I will not be attending tonight’s Yoga + Wine Under the Stars, John Lennon Vintage.

Instead I will stay in and work on soaps, butters and balms for you lovelies.

Languidly yours,
Kelly

Spiced goodness!

Spiced goodness!

Read below the cut to learn all about this invigorating soap.

A spicy, invigorating, spiritually cleansing and uplifting blend of essential oils mean this bar is perfect for seasonal weariness!

We are moving toward a more luxurious offering and our ingredients bear testament to this change: more rich butters and more nutritious oils your skin will love.

The oils used in this soap are:

{ Pure Primed Pressed Cocoa Butter}

This wonderfully decadent butter is chock-full of antioxidants which assist in preventing and reducing damage by free radicals. It also is very high in fatty acids which penetrate the skin to provide thorough, deep moisturizing.

In soap this butter helps create a firm bar that produces a stable, nourishing lather.

{ Avocado Oil }

This wonderful oil is rich in Omega-3, antioxidants and Vitamins A, E, D, B1, B2 & K. It is an effective, nourishing moisturizer that aids in fighting the aging process.

This oil has a high percentage of unsaponifiables, which means much of it’s nutrients are left unaltered and available for your skin to absorb in the final soap.

{ Mango Butter }

One of our butter crushes, mango butter is a favorite of ours! This butter is traditionally used for its skin softening, soothing, moisturizing and protective properties. It boasts natural emollient, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-ageing properties as well as regenerative activity. This butter is rich in vitamins A, C and E, which combat free radicals.

In soap this butter produces a hard bar of soap with a stable, conditioning lather.

{ Natural Raw Shea Butter }

Oh, we could go crazy with shea butter! It’s so rich and creamy and absolute luxury for our skin!

Shea butter is touted as a sort of skin cure-all with healing qualities, anti-inflammatory properties and a high antioxidant content make this a proverbial skin super food. Skin will absorb this butter readily, leaving little to nothing left over.

This butter contains many trace ingredients which don’t react with lye, meaning they remain intact and ready to be absorbed by your skin. In addiction to topical nutritive properties, shea butter also gives soap a nice slip.

The inclusions in this soap lend soothing, cleansing, nourishment that promises to awaken your skin, even mid-winter.

{ Rhassoul Clay }

This clay, mined in the fertile Atlas Mountains of Morocco, has a high level of ion exchange, so it does a great job of absorbing impurities. It has been shown to reduce dryness and flakiness, improve skin clarity and elasticity and holds bountiful amounts magnesium, silica, potassium and calcium.

In soap this clay lends a brown speckled color and light exfoliation.

{ Colloidal Oats }

Oats have long been held in high regard as a great nutritive source but also a wonderful topical application for soothing and moisturizing skin as well as diminishing and often curing many skin ailments. Rich in beta-glucans (polysaccharides), colloidal oats can reduce inflammation, activate immune cells in skin and stimulate collagen deposition. They also contain saponins which lend cleansing, moisturizing and soothing qualities. In addition, oats assist in normalizing the pH level of skin.

{ Oat Extract }

Just to add some extra soothing and moisturizing to an already wonderful bar of soap we included some oat extract.  This also adds a scosche of anti-aging properties.

Our spicy, sweet, rich, complex, slightly medicinal aroma was created with a special blend of essential oils:

{ Curcuma }

Properties include: anticancer, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, antioxidant, antiseptic, antitumor, invigorating, stimulating

{ Ginger Root }

Properties include: anti-inflammatory, anesthetic, anticoagulant, energizing, stimulating, tonic, warming

{ Patchouli, Dark }

Properties include: antidepressant, antiphlogistic, aphrodisiac, astringent, antiseptic, cicatrisant, cytophylactic, deodorant, febrifuge, fungicide, sedative, tonic

The essential oil blend is quite invigorating.
